I wish everyone on here could see my FB feed, because that's where I'm keeping everyone updated lol.

Storm was strong here, but unbeliveably we haven't lost power. My neighbour's property and trees were heavily damaged, but not ours as of yet.

The huge piers on Emerald Isle and in Atlantic Beach were pretty much destroyed. That's probably the most horrible damage in the area.

I just talked to my mum on the phone from my back porch, where we've been watching the storm. My schedule was switched around so I don't have the close tomorrow. I was worried about the first bands of wind and rain that'll be moving in...I didn't want to be driving home late in all that shite.

Marguerite: Flashlight batteries-Check. All the shit in the yard is in the garage. I'm just hoping the seal on my back porch door isn't shitty. We're kind of worried about water seeping in from under it when the back porch gets swamped (which it will for sure). Looks like you guys may get hit too O_O Hopefully it'll be a lot weaker by the time it gets up there.

Tatiana: Like I said, I have to admit I am kind of excited. I love thunderstorms, so this will be the biggest thunderstorm I'm ever been in :P Chuck's been here for over 30 years, and said he's been through some nasty ones, and that makes me feel a bit scared. I'm just glad we don't live on the islands along the coast here. They've all had a mandatory evacuation in the last day or so.

Do you know what the funny thing is? The thing I'm most worried about is not being able to flush our toilets. We have a septic tank, and if the backyard gets too flooded, they stop flushing. That's like my worst nightmare. Not death due to hurricane. LOLKynahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13222304237028745181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5674336400331431860.post-58635307744409537592011-08-25T12:59:37.593-04:002011-08-25T12:59:37.593-04:00Ooooh.... Sounds like you're covered for water, that's good, and I'm sure most peoples fridges and pantries can feed them for quite some time if power goes.Tatianahttp://www.mycoldprairie.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5674336400331431860.post-2596221205208257242011-08-25T11:30:43.571-04:002011-08-25T11:30:43.571-04:00Take care and best of luck.
