Hi, nice to meet you Kyna!

Good on you for having the confidence to film yourself and post it in blogland :)

I'm not so sure midget is the PC term... Perhaps the guy wanted a book on genetic deformities which lead to dwarfism? Unless he really actually wanted I dunno, a humour book on them?
The crazies are out, hopefully now Christmas has gone they'll all disappear again.

I've always wondered why bookstores don't have that section.....

Great video! Looking for a second career doing stand-up? Go for it! :)

Loved your video blog! Maybe the guy meant Midges ... you know like the insect in Ireland that bites you? I think you guys call it black fly....

Can't wait for more chats - you're a natural!

Liz: No, 'midget' is definitely not PC, which is why I was sure to mention that I was quoting the guy exactly.

I didn't really ask what exactly he wanted...I'm thinking he wanted books about dwarfism, but as I told him, it's not something we normally carry in the store but can be ordered.

He was a douche. And there have been a parade of douches all week. It's worse this week than the last few weeks...I guess people think that Christmas is over, no need to be good NOW lol.

Al: Haha! I'm still bewildered over that customer interaction myself. I sent Chuck a text on my lunch about it, and he showed his drywall partners and they all had a laugh over it :)

Chuck thought that 'Kyna' rhymed with 'vagina' for like a month into meeting him. He had shortened my name in an online post to 'Ky'...and I guessed he had it wrong then.

Ms S: I'm much more natural when I'm not talking to myself in front of a video camera lol. When I have an audience I go to town...I just have to remember that I DO have an audience, it's just an impersonal, worldwide one ;)

Byddi: Haha, no, he didn't mean midges. :) In fact, I think that might have been an even weirder thing to get indignant over LOL.

And thank you :)

Bloody hell, you DON'T have a Midget section? I shall be taking my custom elsewhere.

I never knew that Midget was frowned upon. In the UK we tend to call them Dwarves. I like to pronounce it like cough - Dwof! They love that. Mind you, if you do call them a midget, what are they going to do about it?

Our American cousins do seem to be rattled by the relaxation of any correctness. We still have dwarf throwing in some areas, and there's a waiting list for tickets to the dwarf disco!

IG: Well,'Midget Wrestling' comes to a local bar here in J-ville once in awhile. Not my thing, but some of my friends have gone. The group that puts it on is called 'The Pint-Sized Brawlers'. They also have a TV show. One one particular episode, they had a new initiate into the group dropped out of a van on a crowded street, wearing only a diaper. They made him run around yelling, 'I'm a midget! I'm a midget!' as part of his initiation. The looks on the faces of the people walking down the street WERE pretty hilarious...

So America isn't TOO politically correct is it??

Hey, just caught the first episode of the Kyna Show. I give it 2 thumbs up - nice studio background, decent sound and ... wait for it ... NO COMMERCIALS! Woohoo. You'll probably reach most of your intended demographic (well, maybe except for the little persons... *sheesh*).

Looking forward to gardens tours, theme shows and maybe some guest interviews. LOL

Have fun with the new camera. Your blog will never be the same again. (And, most likely, will your readers... ;-D )

Pleased to meet you Kyna, how fun! Congratulations on your first video blog. You're braver than me, I keep our camera squarely pointed at the chickens and turkeys LOL. Your job really is never dull, is it? :P

Lovely to meet you Kyna.Your accent's really nice.

Kris: Oh, I'd love to do guest interviews, I think that would be the most fun. The problem is finding someone I know that would be comfortable in front of a camera. Chuckles won't even be on them if he can help it. He hates being on camera. Photos are fine, video, no.

Clare: It's not really brave, is it? :) I'm just acting how I usually act, only with a camera on me lol.

Is: Thanks! That's a nice comlpiment, usually people make fun of me for my accent. I never noticed I had one till I moved down here, now I can hear it in myself. I don't really like my voice though. Every time I hear myself recorded, I cringe a little. But I figure I can't change it, so why worry about it?

Well done you! Take a bow.

"I'd take you on a tour of my garden, but unfortunately it's kinda chilly... and everything's dead." Bahahaha!! I really don't know why that tickled me, but it did.

I can understand Chuck's reluctance to appear on camera - it took me years before I was comfortable enough to have my photo taken. Video is still a big no-no. Unless drunk. Then I couldn't give a toss.
