I Will Love Him, And Squeeze Him, And Pet Him, And Call Him George...

What a cute little lizardy bastard.

He melts my frosty Canadian heart.

Not enough Hugo the Abominable Snowman quotes, I say. And, nice lizard. (That's what she said! HA!!)

He's so cute! Are they native of North Carolina or is he an escapee?

Turling: "That's what she said." is going to be etched on my gravestone.

Tanya: They're native :) They're called 'anoles'.

They're a sort of chameleon, they change colour from bright lime green like that to dark purpley brown, almost black.

When they're in mating season, the males puff out their throats, which turn a bright red when they're puffed out. It's really cool, actually :)

Cute! Stands out beautifully on the purple foliage.

Hi Kyna,

I'm going to show off my amezin' American knowledge here, get ready for it!!

It's an Anole, isn't it?

Woo hoo, go me for knowing such trivia lol.

He's gorgeous, oh how I wish Lizards were common here.

Oh! I love the pink and chartreuse color combination in that photo. A very stylin' lizard, with a sense of high fashion :P

Andrew: Not only is my coleus super-awesome looking, it's also a wildlife sanctuary :) lol

Liz: Your 'Merican knowledge is correct. :)

IG: I can't eat anything that cute!

Except lamb and baby cows.

But they don't count because they're so damn delicious.

Chad: Thanks! It took me a few shots to get a good one. The leaves kept wanting to be in focus instead of the lizard. But luckily he was a good little guy, and didn't fidget. :)

Clare: I think that's why he likes hanging out in there (he has been for the last two weeks) because he can turn every colour of that foliage lol :)

You made a classy neighborhood for him to hang out in. Maybe bring a girl back there. Play his Sinatra records. Good times. Good lizard time.

Love the title, I cuddle my cat and tell him this all the time. Irritates the heck out of him. He has no appreciation for Tiny Toons.

Cal: I should make him a little smoking jacket and ascot. Do you think they make-lizard sized pipes?

Marguerite: Your cat totally wants to claw your face off for that lol.

I bet they have a whole line of outfits and accessories for the classy lizard gentleman somewhere online.

Cutie! So glad to learn it's native, I'd thought they were not, but it's called a Carolina anole among other things, so apparently it's WAY local.

Looks young and tender, for sure.

SWEET! And its lovin' your coleus! =)

ps the word verification thing I have to type to submit this comment is sucksent... ?

Last summer we had an anole in the garden that was so huge we called him Conan. He hung around on the patio for weeks.

That is hilarious! So then I was looking for the little guy and saw him hiding. Great shot. Cool looking little bugger.
