Your Mother Was A Hamster, And Your Father Smelt Of Elderberries!

I like the sky.

And I know a lot of other bloggers on here do too, with their "Skywatch" meme. Joy @ GardenJoy & Winthrop has some especially nice posts. Also Shyrlene @ The Bunnies' Buffet

I'm not disciplined enough to keep a schedule. In case you haven't guessed, I'm a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants sort of girl.

The other day, however, I saw the perfect sky picture. Was just about home, and I had to screech into the driveway, race in the house, grab the camera, and run out to the backyard to snap a photo. This seems to be the manner in which all my sky pictures are taken.

I always call this sort of sky a 'God Painting'.

I stood there in quiet, reflective awe of this scene. Meditating on the powerful beauty of the world.

Then I suddenly imagine the sound of approaching coconuts in the distance, and it all morphs and swirls together into a Monty Python animation...

...and a giant foot comes down and squashes me and my camera with a "THPPPPT!"

I was going to comment but now, I don't even know what to say to this. All I can think of is "Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?"

Kyna said...

If men are trotting along with coconut halves, clopping them together to make them sound like galloping hooves, they migrate :)

It was just a reference to the 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' movie :) Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you lol

LOL. With a title like that, how could we not end up in a Python skit!? :P Lovely photo by the way.

Dear Kyna, I have long been in love with the skies of Tiepolo, I am familiar with the expression, 'Pie in the Sky', I have not seen, but know of, the skyscrapers of New York, I have heard the song of the Skylark, my attic has a skylight, I adore the sky blue of the cornflowers, I have yet to visit the Isle of Skye, I have observed children at play, skylarking, and I have even heard of Luke Skywalker....Is your posting about any of these, dear Kyna??

CVF: Haha, thanks!

Edith: Unfortunately not. But that doesn't mean I can't write about them in the future. I have a good friend named Sky, who's a particularly interesting character! I could probably scrape a blog about him :)

Lol, gotta love classic Monty Python, I also noticed a quote from Pretty Woman, but it could also be from a range of other places!

Now I'll go on my merry way...

*Bravely bold Sir Robin, rode forth from camalot... He was not affraid to die, O', brave Sir Robin...

Gorgeous. Inspiring. Views like that don't come along everyday. I can see why you rushed to capture it.

Kyna .. I can't tell you what I am doing right now besides laughing my ass off over the Monty Python mention .. you are far to young to enjoy such humour .. hell I was a teenager then myself .. but hell it was great and IS great and that WAS great !
How many ways can I say what an amazing picture you took ? !!!!
I love it .. you should have it printed off .. it is so gorgeous and rare to catch those fantastic rays !
Thank you so much for the mention too girl : ) It has been a while since I have gotten a great sky picture .. they happen most in Spring and Autumn .. then I will be hanging out on the deck looking tre chic in my glaringly ugly nightware .. it sort of warns people to avert their attention else where .. so I guess it does the job ? LOL
Damn good picture girl !!!
Joy .. laughing and tooting ! LOL
PS .. a note to your newer post about the leisure suit ? Husband had a powder blue one he wore after our wedding .. yes .. it was a TINY wedding event ! hahaha

Kyna, the fire ant sting thing just made me CRINGE! Because, I've had these buggers inflict unspeakable pain on meself when I was still an unseasoned city slicker trying to blend into the country life. Four years ago, when we first moved into our house, I had walked my dog up to the top of the hill to admire the view when I felt these sharp, excruciating, daggerlike pains up my legs. WTH, but I was apparently standing in the middle of a fire ant trail. Woe was stupid me! But to see me running & screaming down the slope like a girl (which I am, but an older version thereof) would have been priceless. Unlike mosquito bites, ant bites take almost a month to heal. Won't make that mistake again!

With "elderberries" in the title, I should have seen that coming. ;)

Gorgeous sky shot!
