Paging Dr. Biv, Dr. Roy G Biv....

Because a rainbow of colour is just what the doctor ordered :D

Thanks to Rebecca http://www.prefertobeinthegarden.blogspot.com/ for the idea :) Everyone's posted such nice 'rainbows' in the last couple of days.

Red tulips that were one of the first things this novice gardener planted when I moved here. Unfortunately, I found out that tulips don't survive very well from year to year in this wet climate, so they are there no more. :(

Orange tiger lilies in my back garden.

Yellow 'Rainbow Sorbet' tulips, leaning after a light frost.

Green beginnings of a tomato plant.

Blue, the colour that seems to be absent from my store of garden pictures. This is the closest I can get to capturing blue tones, but it isn't really blue...sorry. Next year I'll take pics of my ageratum plants :)

Indigo is the colour of my bearded irises turn when photographed. Maybe I should have used this for 'blue'? lol

Violet is the colour of my favourite vine. One I won't plant, because it is extremely invasive in this area, and would crush everything around it. Wisteria....a HUGE mass of this grows down the street from where I live, and I took this photo of it last spring. You wouldn't believe the fragrance that wafts in this area...I could spend all day there. The neighbours would be curious...lol

Thank you to Diana @ Elephant's Eye for being kind enough to use my Rainbow post link in her own Rainbow contribution! :)

Your garden rainbow is lovely, Kyna! Hasn't this been a great exercise? :)

Yes, I loved it! :) I only wish I had more pictures to choose from. If I had expected to start a blog, I would have taken more :)

Ah, another joyous glorious rainbow of colour, Kyna. Just the sort of thing to pick up our spirits. I'm sorry wisteria is invasive for you-here, it's marginally hardy so it has no delusions of grandeur.

Hi Kyna,

I love all of your colors, but the yellow tulips and violas are my favorites :^)

I love your garden rainbow - what a great idea.

Jodi: Yes, we actually have to worry about it crushing structures (aka our house) in this area. I went to Lowe's and saw what they called a 'Wisteria Arbor'...there's no way that thing would stand up to it lol. It just grows everywhere. I wish I had some woods nearer to my property, I'd start some in that.

Noelle and Jayne: I'm glad you enjoyed it! I loved those tulips...I just wish they were perennial here.

It's been fun seeing all the rainbows. I love the Tiger Lily! Now that's one I've been meaning to add to my garden.

Thank you! I bought two of them, but one of them I dug up from a yard where Mr. A was doing a drywall job. The guy who owned the house heard that I had a garden, and told me to dig up whatever I wanted. I almost came home with a fig tree lol. But I got a Tiger Lily out of it ;)

Beautiful flowers ... just loved your bearded iris. I wish I could grow wisteria ... it's always been the plant I've wanted in my garden! Never mind ... I enjoyed your photo a lot.

Thank you! :) Wisteria is one of my favourites...but as I said, I'm too afraid to grow it in my garden, for fear it would choke out everything lol. I had to sneak down the street for that pic...it grows rampantly in the forests surrounding me :)

I do enjoy that iris very much...I just wish iris flowers lasted a little longer :(

Hi Kyna, what a beautiful post, I'm so happy to see it. Your tulips are gorgeous, I love the red edges, it really dresses them up. The blue/indigo thing is difficult, I'm not entirely sure what the difference between them is...:) Rebecca

Oops! I hit 'sumbit' before proofreading, I hope it's free of errors and basically makes sense lol.

Don't worry, there were no errors! I did that the other day....thanked Meredith @ Victory Garden Redux for picking my "shell wine" post, instead of "vine" lol.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look :D
