So my new buddy over at The Idiot Gardener, has issued a challenge.

IG has challenged the use of a traditional gardening hat. He was brave enough to show us his, now wants us to show ours.
This is now my gardening hat until June. I can't wear it after that in NC, because I'd end up in the hospital for heatstroke. Not to mention that Mr. A wouldn't find my mass of sweaty hat hair very attractive.
Complete with bear ears and pom-poms.
I don't usually publish two separate blog entries before noon, but this was too interesting to pass up. So I'd love it if you stopped by my other one too :D

I'd love to see everyone's hats as much as IG would. A head in the hat in the photo is optional I'm sure. ;)

You're crazy!
I don't wear a hat at all...
What a nice compliment, thank you Mandy! :D lol
I have to wear a hat, or my hair gets in my mouth while I'm bent over digging...:P
I don't wear one either - I know, naughty! :(
Mine seems to hit ponytail style from June until October.
Hehe, me too :) I used to not wear a hat, but my head got so burnt from the hot NC sun, that I'm afraid skin cancer's going to show up one of these years :P
I don't have a gardening hat at the moment, just a gardening visor to keep my hair out of my eyes. I'd sort of like to get one of those easy breezy wide brimmed straw hats, but I look such a dork in hats, it would be a waste of money. And then there's that sweaty hair thing you mention.
I'd go for a visor, but the sun just beats right through my hair and burns my scalp. Nothin' like a scalp-burn. O_O
I'm lucky, I've never minded looking like a dork :D
Like the bear's ears :) I wear a floppy straw hat in the summer but no there are no photos!
Hehe, thanks! :D
I think your hat is cute. I don't wear hats much, but my 11 year old daughter always has one on.
Thanks :D I don't usually wear them either, unless I'm going to be outside all day. This is the only place I've lived where I've gotten a nasty sunburn in the winter :(
That's a proper hat! Come the glorious day, you'll be spared the wrath of the righteous hat wearers!
I dropped mine in a manky puddle this morning. Then I popped out to get some screws and nails. The warmth in the hardware shop brought out the dankness mixed with the smell of manure.
Mrs IG has suggested that it stays in the shed from now on!
Actually, I kind of feel for Mrs IG on that one lol. A stinky hat can be grounds for divorce in some countries I've heard ;)
